Cumberhills in Duffield: the Conservatives wanted to build on this and other sites across Amber Valley.
Cumberhills in Duffield: the Conservatives wanted to build on this and other sites across Amber Valley.

The Conservatives tried to delete parts of our precious Green Belt when they ran Amber Valley Borough Council and build housing estates on sites like Wirksworth road and Cumberhills in Duffield,  Far Laund in Belper, and thirteen other irreplaceable parcels of land in the Borough. We are proud that in opposition Labour opposed those plans.

We are prouder still that when Labour took control of Amber Valley Borough Council we immediately scrapped the Tories’ plan, protected the Green Belt and began work on rewriting a Local Plan which protects our Green Belt and which delivers the right type of new housing that we need in the right places.
